Old Fashioned Greek Shortbread


Old Fashioned Greek Shortbread

Ingredients
  • 1 pound butter (not margarine)
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 teaspoon anise
  • 4 to 5 cups flour
Cooking Directions
  1. Beat butter at medium speed of electric mixer for 10 minutes. 
  2. Add egg yolks and confectioners' sugar.
  3. Beat 5 more minutes. Add anise. 
  4. Add flour one cup at a time, kneading. 
  5. Roll dough into 1−inch balls and bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes or until very lightly browned.
  6. Dust with confectioners' sugar.
