Apple and Bacon Baked Beans Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1⁄2 to 3⁄4 pound bacon slices, cut in half
  • Two 28- ounce cans baked beans
  • 1⁄2 cup ketchup
  • 1⁄2 cup cider vinegar
  • 3⁄4 cup pancake syrup
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 2 cups diced apples, such as Gala or Jonathan
Cooking Instructions: 
  1. Preheat the broiler. 
  2. Arrange the bacon on a pan and broil 6 inches from the heat source for 6 minutes, or until partially done.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F. 
  4. Combine the baked beans, ketchup, cider vinegar, syrup, dry mustard, and apples in a large bowl; mix well.
  5. Pour the bean mixture into a greased 13 × 9- inch glass baking dish. 
  6. Arrange the bacon slices on top.
  7. Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour. Stir in the bacon before serving.
