Creamy Caramel Fondue Sauce

Creamy Caramel Fondue Sauce

Ingredients
  • 1 pound caramel
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Dippers as desired
Cooking Directions
  1. Place the caramel in a microwaveable bowl to heat in the microwave or place it in a saucepan to heat over the stove top.
  2. If using the microwave, heat the caramel on high until it reaches approximately 160 degrees on a candy thermometer (this temperature produces a good consistency). The melting time should take from 2 to 3 minutes; remember to stop every 45 seconds to stir the caramel.
  3. Ovens vary greatly, so check with a thermometer as you stop to stir during the melting.
  4. If you choose to heat the caramel over the stove top, clip a thermometer to the side of the pan and cook the caramel until it reaches 160 degrees.
  5. Stir in the milk and butter and mix with a hard rubber spatula until the mixture is consistent.
  6. Blending the milk and melting the butter should take about 30 seconds.
  7. Place the mixture in a fondue pot and keep the sauce warm with a fuel source.
