Milk Chocolate Fondue
Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup heavy cream
- 12 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
- 2 to 3 tablespoons flavoring, such as a rum flavor
- Dippers as desired
- In a medium saucepan, slowly heat the heavy cream to scalding (about 180 degrees on a candy thermometer), the stage at which the cream begins to bubble actively.
- Allow the cream to start bubbling heavily, but do not allow the cream to come to a full boil.
- Remove the cream from the heat, and whisk in the chopped chocolate until the mixture is blended. This blending should take about 1 minute. You want to be sure that the mixture is smooth with no lumps.
- Gently whisk in the flavoring until the mixture is smooth; about 15 seconds should be long enough to blend the flavor with the chocolate.
- Place the mixture in a fondue pot, and keep it warm with a fuel source.
- Select the first items to dip, and place them on the dipping forks for dipping.
